Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Are you a fiduciary?

As a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® professional, we follow a fiduciary standard. This means that our standard is to act in the best interests of our clients. Every recommendation we make is guided by helping you achieve your goals.

Q: How is financial planning different from investment management?

Financial planning looks at your entire financial picture—creating a budget, getting ready for retirement, minimizing taxes, managing risk, and legacy considerations—while investment management focuses specifically on growing and preserving your investment portfolio. We use financial planning to determine your goals so we can build an investment portfolio to help you achieve them.

Q: Do you have a minimum investment requirement?

Wu Advisory Group welcomes clients at every stage of life—no minimum investment required. We understand that everyone’s financial journey is unique, and we’re here to use our financial planning expertise and guidance to meet clients where they are.

Q: What are your fees for financial planning and investment management?

Our investment management fee is generally around 1.00% of assets under management, calculated annually and billed quarterly. Hourly financial guidance starts at $400 per hour and can be customized based on your situation. You can view more details on our financial planning tiers here: www.wuadvisorygroup.com/financial-planning

Q: Can you help with one-time financial questions or projects?

Yes. For clients who don’t need ongoing management, we offer hourly financial guidance starting at $400 per hour. This is ideal for focused questions or specific financial decisions.

Q: Do you offer financial education or workshops?

Yes! Financial education is at the core of what we do. We offer pro bono educational sessions and workshops designed to help individuals and organizations make informed financial decisions.

Q: Do you provide tax or legal advice?

While we consider tax and estate implications in your financial plan, we do not prepare tax returns or draft legal documents. We’re happy to coordinate with your CPA or attorney to ensure your plan works seamlessly across all areas. We also have a list of professionals that we can recommend.

Q: Do you use active or passive investments (or both)?

We use a blend of both, depending on the client’s needs and goals. Our focus is always on cost-effective, evidence-based solutions designed to optimize long-term results.

Q: What does the first meeting look like?

Our first meeting is a relaxed, no-obligation conversation focused on your goals, challenges, and questions. It’s an opportunity to learn about each other and see if our financial planning approach aligns with your needs.

Q: What information should I bring to the first meeting?

Recent investment or retirement account statements, a list of goals, and an overview of your income and expenses can be helpful. Don’t worry if you don’t have everything—our process is designed to guide you step by step.

Q: How can I schedule an introductory meeting?

Great question! You can schedule a complimentary consultation through the link below. We look forward to learning more about your goals and how we can help.
